Blogging Nay-Sayers

Recently I have heard so many negative comments about blogging...

"Why would anyone want to blog?  That's just stupid."
"Why would you want to tell the whole world about yourself?"
"If you blog you must have way too much time on your hands."
"Get a life."
"People only talk about the good things and don't really show life like it really is."
Etc. Etc. Etc.

I hear many, many comments.  And frankly, it bothers me.  People blog for many different reasons and why do others have to be so critical just because it isn't something they would do?

I love blogging.  It is therapeutic for me and I love writing about my thoughts and feelings.  It gives me an avenue for my frustrations, anxieties, fears, hopes, dreams, and good things in life.

But I have let the negativity of others hold me back.  I've second-guessed myself and worried about what other's think rather than doing what I feel is right for me.  Blogging isn't for everyone and maybe it isn't the most popular thing to do these days, but blogging is for me and I'm not going to quit writing just because someone else has a different view on it.  After all, I'm not blogging for them.  I'm blogging for me.  So I'm going to do better and not let others hold me back anymore.  Starting now.
